About Pack 985

Pack 985 is a non-denominational Cub Scout Pack, with around 65 kids in Kindergarten – 5th grades organized in Dens, or groups of 6-8 same-aged children. We meet as a Pack once or twice a month throughout the year. These events are all family events, and include many fun and varied activities and trips including camping, the famous Pinewood Derby, swimming, rafting, community service projects, and many others. Each year we take one big overnight trip to an exciting destination such as USS Yorktown in Charleston, cave camping, or Space Camp.

Pack 985 is an area leading Pack, recognized within the state over our 30 year history, for delivering excellence in Scouting, and providing youth with, among others:

Our primary feeder schools are Hembree Springs Elementary School and Vickery Mill Elementary School, though some of our scouts are from other schools. We are members of the Northern Ridge District in the Atlanta Area Council of the BSA, and we are chartered by Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, Georgia, who provide our facilities and Scout House for meetings and events.

When you’re a kid, fun comes first. Final exams, driver’s ed and summer jobs will arrive soon enough. Cub Scouts lets kids have fun while teaching them skills that will help them later on. From the thrill of shooting an arrow to learning how to transform a block of wood into a race car, Cub Scouts is one thrill after another. With a program expertly tailored to match each age in a young child's life, Cub Scouts learn that even when fun isn’t easy, it’s always an adventure. In Scouting, everything has a purpose. And it shows kids that doing their best is the most fun of all.
