For new Cubs to the Pack, this is a fun time to learn what being a Cub Scout is all about. We mix fun with a little bit of education, so they know what to do in Scouting just like the older boys, but we also set up some of our favorite games to help them see that Scouting is also fun. It starts the boys on the road of learning good values and helpful skills and abilities, all the time disguised as fun.

We’ll introduce them to the Pack structure, how a Den works, what their responsibilities, how to salute, and what to do at an opening or closing ceremony, and when to be quiet and when to be loud. We’ll introduce the Den Leader, the Assistant Den Leaders, the Cubmaster and Committee Chair, so they know everyone who is looking out for them in the Pack, and who to go to if they have any questions or issues.

For the Parents, we’ll teach them about the same information, plus how their volunteerism benefits not just the Pack, but also demonstrates leadership and teamwork to their Cub.
